KARAMURSEL WATERFRONT

The shoreline of Karamursel was effected by the earthquake.  Although several residents claim a tidal wave followed the earthquake, local officials deny any damaging tidal wave and there is no evidence to support the tidal wave theory.

Facing west the shoreline prior to the earthquake was 80 meters to the left of the lamppost that is leaning toward the ocean.

This is a view facing east from about the same point.  The street in the foreground  now end at the waters edge. Several building in the background disappeared into the Sea of Marmara.
