Hagia Sophia, originally built as a Christian church in 325 A.D.  Ravaged by fire in 404 A.D. and then burnt to the ground during riots in 532 A.D. Rebuilt out of stone to prevent fires it was severely damaged in the earthquakes of 553 and 557 A.D.  In 1453 it was converted into a mosque.  Today it is a Byzantine Ottoman museum.
