Massachusetts Task Force 1 (MA-TF1), sponsored by the City of Beverly, Massachusetts, maintains the heritage established by the Lexington Minutemen at the onset of the American Revolution: the spirit of cooperation and volunteerism that sustains the vitality of a democratic society as well as the infrastructure of emergency response.

911 Memorial Ceremony

To commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9.11 we would like to invite you to the unveiling ceremony of a Memorial dedicated to all First Responders at 9.11. The focal point of this memorial is a 1,500 pound piece of steel from the 93-95 floors of the North Tower, which was impacted by American Airlines Flight 11 at 8:47 AM on that fateful day. The steel is placed within a pentagon shape, hand laid by our team members. While at 9.11, our team used the large metallic sculpture that once stood in the area between the World Trade Center towers, called “The Sphere” as a reference point as our team searched. To symbolize that, there’s a rolling sphere fountain as the centerpiece within another pentagon shape in front of the steel. There are dozens of other symbols; some obvious and others subtle, built into our memorial that we invite you to come and discover. It will serve as a reminder of all the lives that were lost that day and the resilience of the United States of America and her people.

Tours of the MA-TF1 facility will be available that day.
